Support Coordinator (Stroke Charity)

They are continually working to improve the lives of stroke survivors and their families who deserve the very best treatment and care. Our client delivers amazing, life-changing support to over 60,000 stroke survivors and their families each year. They also fund research to find better treatments, campaign for better stroke care and help people understand how to spot and prevent stroke. This work is made possible by more than 4,000 talented volunteers and staff, their fantastic supporters and strong relationships with the stroke clinical and research community.

Location: Liverpool (2 roles) & Knowsley (1 role) but based in the Liverpool office – North Zone
Job Type: Fixed term until 31 March 2019 (their services are contracted; they currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2019).
Hours: 28 hours per week
Salary circa £18,400 per annum
Closing Date: 28 September 2018

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to deliver support following stroke.
They are looking for innovative, passionate and professional individuals to join their teams in Liverpool & Knowsley. Working closely with the hospital and community multi-disciplinary teams you will provide emotional and practical support to stroke survivors, their families and carers, both in hospital and at home
The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, providing a range of innovative support solutions. A key part of the role will be to recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers, to support service users and the delivery of the service. Referrals are received from the Acute and Community Stroke Teams in the local areas, families and other healthcare professionals
About you:
Applicants are likely to have a background in the caring profession, preferably with knowledge of stroke. You must have all round flexible skills in listening, communication, organisation, IT and resourcefulness.
The use of a car with business use cover and the ability to drive is essential to be able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
You may have experience of the following: Communication Support Coordinator, Service Coordinator, Health Care, Stroke Recovery, Third Sector, Charity, Charities, NFP, Not for Profit, Support Coordinator, Advice, Support Coordinator etc.
