Policy Officer
Our client is an award-winning innovative professional body and trade union that leads the nutrition and dietetic workforce in the UK. They also manage a portfolio of other initiatives including the renowned Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) and back office support functions for other organisations including British and Irish Orthoptic Society (BIOS).
Position: Policy Officer
Location: Central Birmingham, West Midlands
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 36 hours per week, we may also consider flexible working, job share, or part-time
Salary: £28,876 per annum
Benefits include: 29.5 days holiday, flexible working policy, non-contributory healthcare benefits and a company pension scheme.

About the role:
Our client is looking for a dynamic Policy Officer with a can-do attitude to manage accounts across two-member bodies within the sport and health sectors. This varied role will include delivering member and external communications across a range of channels, alongside responsibilities for aspects of policy and oversight.
This is a unique role, requiring a breadth of skills and knowledge including working with volunteers, delivering cross channel digital communications, policy and stakeholder development, and governance. In this role you will provide policy, communication and governance support to the Boards of both BIOS and SENr; researching and developing policy positions, developing relationships with members / registrants and external stakeholders, ensuring governance requirements are met and managing internal and external communications. You will also lead on promoting and raising awareness of the General and Education Trust (GET); a grant giving charity.
About you:
You will be degree educated or will have substantial equivalent experience, and you will have an understanding of health or other public sector. You will have experience of developing projects and ensuring completion and experience of producing reports or analysis using a variety of sources. Excellent verbal and written communication including the use of tact and diplomacy is also essential.
Additionally, you will have strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and translate complex information for different audiences, including experience of producing reports or analysis using a variety of sources. You will have experience of producing content for social, web and other media and use of office software.
