Our client is a radical and bold project that aims to truly transform the UK’s higher education sector. As the UK’s first wholly new university in over 40 years, the institution seeks to develop a new model of engineering education and to inspire more people – especially women and those from under-represented backgrounds – to study engineering.

The Head of Philanthropic Engagement is a key role in the newly formed Advancement team, contributing significantly to the success of all the university’s external engagement and fundraising activities. The role will take on a leadership position with a number of our client's most important prospective major donors, shaping institutional stewardship strategy and operations. The role will primarily be responsible for principal and major gift success.

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape the future of a new university. The successful candidate will need passion, grit and curiosity to make a landmark contribution to the university’s growth and success, and to help achieve its ambitious goals. S/he will need leadership experience in fundraising, sales or relationship-based roles within a target-focused environment, and a track record of successful cultivation and solicitation of significant gifts, sales or relationships.
