Volunteer Officer

There are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK. Almost two thirds have a disability and one third rely on others for help, making stroke one of the biggest causes of disability. 

They are continually working to improve the lives of stroke survivors and their families who deserve the very best treatment and care. They deliver amazing, life-changing support to over 60,000 stroke survivors and their families each year. They also fund research to find better treatments, campaign for better care and help people understand how to spot and prevent stroke. Position: Volunteering and Community Officer 
Location: South London and Surrey; location base flexible 
Job Type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 21 hours per week 
Salary circa £13,800 per annum (national), circa £15,700 per annum (inner London weighting), circa £14,800 per annum (outer London weighting)

About the role: 

They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their Stroke Support Directorate in the South of England, largely covering South London and Surrey. 

Reporting to the Volunteering and Community Manager, South, our clients Volunteering and Community Officer will: 

-Be responsible for growing and sustaining their community volunteering footprint for the benefit of people affected by stroke 
-Provide support and links with the relevant internal and external stakeholders 
-Provide a strong link with and support to local Ambassadors, Voluntary Groups & Affiliated Independent Clubs across the zone 
-Deliver organisational programmes 
-Build and report upon a network of local communities by providing local support, regular communications and ensuring national frameworks are embedded 

About you: 

You will have a proven track record of supporting and developing groups, volunteers and community partnerships. You will also have a good understanding and experience of working in health, social care and/or voluntary sector. 

You may have experience of the following: Volunteering and Community Officer, Volunteering Officer, Community Officer, Volunteer Coordinator, Volunteer Officer, Project Officer, Project Assistant, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, NFP, Not for Profit, etc.
