Our client is a leading social and environmental regeneration charity delivering over 500 projects each year aimed at: supporting communities and people across London whether through education, to gain new skills, secure employment; reduce environmental impact - energy efficiency, waste minimisation/reuse; and by engaging communities and enterprise in a range of innovative programmes.

They are seeking a Project Accountant to contribute to the effective financial management of their projects, including the Building Better Opportunities programme funded by ESF/Big Lottery Fund and managed by the charity.

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: circa £29,000

In your role you will be a key member of the Corporate Services Finance Team, working together with the other Project Accountants and the Finance Manager, you will oversee the day to day financial systems including sales ledger, purchase ledger, nominal ledger, cashbook, petty cash, project management and bank reconciliations. Experience of financial management software packages (ideally Sage 200) is essential.

The position of Project Accountant provides critical financial management in respect of the projects and programmes the charity delivers and requires the post holder to liaise effectively with staff, programme partners, funders and other stakeholders.

You will be expected to deliver a high standard of work and be able to communicate complex financial information to a diverse audience and produce detailed reporting and monitoring information to Trust and funder required standards. With relevant experience in financial management of project budgets, you will assist with business planning and support project staff with the preparation and monitoring of budget information.

Additionally, you will have a working knowledge of third sector financial management and VAT and excellent IT skills.
