I'm currently recruiting for an exciting Prospect Research Officer role for a large charity, based in the City of London.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing insight-led, tailored prospect research with a main focus on the Philanthropy & Events team, but on occasion for Trust & Statutory and Corporate Partnerships teams as well.
This role is key to providing a steady flow of new business prospects to the High Value Giving teams, joining up opportunities across the Department and providing support to the Prospect Research Manager role in areas including prospect management, data protection and database management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Undertake up-to-date, accurate and efficiently managed prospect research which reflects the requirements of fundraisers
-Ensure fundraisers have a high quality, insight-led prospect pipeline to assist teams in achieving financial targets.
-Responsible for managing the prospect pipeline for Philanthropy by reviewing, qualifying and prioritising prospects
-Lead on aspects of donor review prospecting meetings by reporting on prospect research, distributing prospects, tracking progress through feedback from account handlers and managing reporting of pipeline progress.
-Manage internal systems and processes for the storage of prospect research ensuring that all information is kept up-to-date, secure and in line GDPR.
-Ensure database is effectively configured to meet the requirements of the Prospect Research function and assist in the production of development briefs to improve processes.
-In consultation with Prospect Research Manager devise effective information feedback process and set metrics for evaluating prospecting performance
-Identify potential connections between existing and new donors through our database and by working together with fundraisers at all levels and provide bespoke network maps of these connections as briefed
-Research, test and compare fee-based databases and online research services



PERSON SPECIFICATION
-High level of IT literacy knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet research and research database skills to produce insightful and accurate fundraising reports, proposals, spreadsheets, presentation documents
-Knowledge of GDPR and its relevance to Fundraising
-Knowledge of information databases such as MINT and Trust Funding
-Familiarity with Fundraising Databases
-Ability to collect and assess information rapidly, identifying key areas and drawing conclusions.
-Ability to interpret complex information to specific and wide ranging audiences ensuring it is accurate, current and accessible with attention to detail as well as providing context and overview
-Ability to work in a team sharing research knowledge, ideas and techniques
-Ability to take initiative and work independently to manage pieces of work, including taking responsibility for managing projects
-At least one year experience of fundraising research, particularly prospect research in a charity or equivalent organisation
-Experience of managing and using a variety of research resources including online systems
-Experience of developing and managing relationships with fundraisers and other stakeholders
-Experience of presenting research findings to a high standard in a readable, accessible format
