Job Details

Working for a leading independent school in London, this role will see you engage with two different groups of alumni using a range of digital and non-digital marketing channels. The role is hands-on, involving a variety of skills including relationship building, database administration and management, publication editing and event organisation.

The position will be suited to an enthusiastic and pro-active individual with a relaxed and flexible attitude.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide a link for alumni of all ages to the school and a network to support all former pupils, parents and staff in their life beyond school
- Respond to all alumni enquiries (face-to-face, phone, letter, email, online)
- Help to promote the benefits of a growing alumni network in each school to current and prospective parents and pupils at key marketing/recruitment and school events
- Develop and maintain a programme of alumni engagement, with both Heads and the Director of External Relations, and the current Chairs of the Alumni organisations, which will primarily support the following areas:
- Building on and developing new opportunities for alumni to keep in touch with each other and the school
- Identifying alumni contacts to join our Careers Champions programme helping the Head of Careers build career and networking opportunities for current and former pupils
- Creating opportunities to enable the Development Team to approach alumni for fundraising activity
- Implement this programme of events and engagement using online and more traditional means of communication


Key skills for the role:

- An excellent understanding of social media
- Attention to detail and accuracy - vital in both written communications and maintaining the database.
- Exceptional writing skills with accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation and an appreciation of its importance in a school environment
- Excellent project planning and organisational skills
- High level of attention to detail in both numeric and written work
- Experience of data entry and using databases
- Confident in using social media platforms including Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter
- Excellent IT skills: experience of using of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher
- Experience of event management
- Experience of relationship-building and understanding of customer service
