Engagement and Participation Officer (Charity)
Take on dementia together
Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
Position: Engagement and Participation Officer
Location: Flexible in the North East of England or Yorkshire
Contract type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £28,283 actual per annum
Closing date: 5pm on Friday 21st September.
Interview date: Wednesday 10th October – Leeds (venue tbc)
About the role:
By 2022 they will offer everyone affected by dementia the opportunity to use their skills and experiences to influence what they do. They will involve people affected by dementia in all stages of their work, across their services – from making decisions with their leaders, to working with staff and volunteers locally.
The post holder will support the implementation of the Society’s New Deal on Dementia Voice across the North of England and promote the active involvement of people with dementia and carers in shaping the work of them and the wider health and social care environment.
About you:
You will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of developing, delivering and evaluating user involvement activity and your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will assist you to embed a culture of working together with people affected by dementia at all levels of the organisation.
You will be based in the North East or Yorkshire area of the region, with some travel to the North West, whilst working closely with colleagues across the North region.
