About the role:

There are currently 2.5 million Dementia Friends across England and Wales and we are working towards our target of 4 million by 2020. In 2017/18 we worked with organisations to create 170,000 Dementia Friends. This is an exciting time as we build on this momentum; this role is about securing the engagement and involvement of national organisations, across all sectors for Alzheimer’s Society’s community change programme, Dementia Friends. This will result in more organisations working to become more dementia friendly that are then able to support the needs of people affected by dementia. This will enable those affected by the condition to live well in their communities.

The postholder will work with a number of Alzheimer’s Society departments to develop and manage relationships with target organisations nationally. You will proactively seek out new opportunities and manage existing relationships both internally and externally. You will work with senior leaders externally in order to increase the number of Dementia Friends in organisations and to increase our reach into more sectors of business and society. You will also be working to improve our existing offer to organisations and producing new engagement materials to support this.

About you:

You will be an excellent people manager with proven skills in developing and empowering your colleagues to excel. You will have significant experience of relationship development with senior internal and external stakeholders. You will be proficient at creating and delivering presentations to audiences of all sizes. Negotiating and influencing skills are essential as are project management, strong prioritising and account management. You will be a positive team player in order to promote cross-team working and will be proactive at identifying further opportunities to aid collaboration across the Society.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely, all contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.

Alzheimer’s Society is committed to equal opportunities.

You may have experience of the following: Partnerships Officer, Partnership Manager, Partnership Management, Stakeholder Manager, Partnership Development Officer, Business Development, Account Management, Partnerships Executive, Business Development Executive, Charity, Charities, NFP, Not for Profit, Third Sector Account Manager, Customer Relationship Manager, Customer Relationship Management, etc.
