We are working in partnership with Wheatsheaf Trust, a charity aimed at helping people disadvantaged in the labour market including young people who have become disconnected from the mainstream and unemployed adults, including those with disabilities and long term health conditions. The charity is seeking a new Finance Manager to take overall control of the accounting, legal and compliance functions. The key responsibilities will include:
- Financial planning and budgeting support to the Chief Executive and Board
- Development and maintenance of financial controls and audit systems
- Preparation of Management and Final Accounts
- Risk Management & Business Continuity Planning
- Ensure that the requirements of statutory funders and regulators are met
- Act as Company Secretary for the Trust
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant, preferably with ACA, ACCA or ACMA with experience of production of statutory accounts, budgets, management accounts and specifically have knowledge of charity accounting requirements. The accounting package used is QuickBooks and experience with this software, or similar, is essential. You will have experience of working in the charity sector in a small to medium size organisation and, ideally, also have experience of public sector contracting and working as part of a team. A commitment to quality and social inclusion is essential to fit in with the culture of the charity.
