Service Manager (Advocacy Services) 

Our client supports people who face disadvantage or discrimination to have a voice that counts. Our client is a well-established organisation providing advocacy and user involvement services across England. 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of our client’s large regional advocacy services. Your advocacy team will support people who may be marginalised or vulnerable to speak up and be heard. The service you lead will strengthen voices, support human rights and change lives. 

Position: Service Manager (Advocacy Services) 
Location: Suffolk (Countrywide Travel) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £27,000 to £31,500 per annum

About the role: 

The Service Manager role is responsible for providing expert operational and contract management and leads the service, continuously monitoring and reviewing performance with staff and with sub-contracted partner organisations. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality and compliant delivery to service users. You will be accountable for your service meeting contractual targets and performance measures and enabling the voices of service users to be heard and respected. 

You will directly manage and develop the relationship with the commissioners of your service contracts. You will be supported in your role by your Regional Director and you will work closely with your Managing Advocates. 


About you: 

- Experience of managing and delivering services to different service user groups 
- Experience of motivating and leading teams 
- Experience of managing relationships with external agencies 
- Understanding of principles of Advocacy, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities 
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise a complex workload 
- Ability to manage change and lead people through change 
- Creativity in problem solving 
- Sound business understanding 
- Positive “can-do” attitude 
- Full and clean driving licence 
- IT skills – a working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

Desirable Skills / Experiences: 

- Experience of managing contracts within the context of Local Authority Commissioning and maintaining positive relationships with commissioning teams 
- Experience of project management in support services projects, including reporting and funder meetings 
- Experience of monitoring and reporting, ensuring data accuracy across a range of metrics and following processes and procedures, making effective use of systems 
- Experience of working in a Third Sector organisation 
- General management qualification 

You may have experience of the following: Service Manager, Advocate, Advocate, Senior Care Coordinator, Business Support Manager, Service Delivery, Healthcare, Project Manager, Process Improvement, Change Manager, Social Worker, Community Care, Team Leader, Impact Advisor etc.
