Job Details

Our client, a leading university based in East London, is looking to recruit a temporary Student Academic and Pastoral Support Manager to coordinate the various support services and systems and to ensure effective liaison between professional services staff. Crucially, you will provide management, leadership and planning for a responsive student centred service. Acting across multiple areas of work, you will develop a broad understanding of the curriculum, operational practises, support services and assessments. The post-holder will be expected to develop expertise in the college and school student support services and act as the school's expert in utilising these mechanisms.

The Student Academic and Pastoral Support Manager liaises closely with the Head of Student Academic and Pastoral Support, Mentors as well as with relevant central services in order to monitor and support the progress of students in the school, including providing advice to academic staff on support tools and processes. In this role you will lead and manage a consistently high quality customer experience where the quality of a student's first encounter with a member of staff is critical in terms of whether they engage with the support on offer.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you must have experience of working in a higher education institution and have demonstrable experience of developing policies, administrative procedures and processes to be considered for this post.
