Harris Hill are working with a homelessness charity based in East London to recruit an experienced Grants Manager to lead and develop income generation from trusts & foundations and statutory sources. This organisation has a long history of supporting the needs of homeless people in East London and are looking to grow their services to meet increasing need in this extremely vulnerable and marginalised community.

This role has been newly created and will pay an integral part in the organisation's growth strategy. It is an exciting time to join the charity as they are implementing a new strategic approach to fundraising and wish to recruit an experienced and ambitious individual to join the organisation.

Working closely with the Director of Development the successful candidate will be responsible for driving income generation from grants as part of an ambitious 5-year growth strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with grant giving bodies, statutory funders and services colleagues, while contributing to the strategic direction of the fundraising strategy.

Key responsibilities for the role will include

- The development and delivery of proposals and bids to grant giving organisations including: local authorities, corporate foundations, Big Lottery, Comic Relief and various trusts and foundations.

- Continuously reviewing and assessing new opportunities for funding support and the cultivation and stewardship of new and existing funders.

- Provide high levels of donor care and further enhance relationships with existing funders.

Work closely with internal departments and colleagues to understand projects and ongoing requirements to drive income growth.

Experience and skills required for the role include:

- A proven track record of income generation from both statutory sources and trusts and foundations

- Strong relationship development/management skills with the ability to build new and existing relationships and provide high levels of donor care and support

- Previous experience of contributing to the strategic growth of a grants fundraising function, including developing and implementing new systems and processes to manage, monitor and analyse grants work

- The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills

- The role requires an individual who has a strategic approach with strong planning skills
- The candidate must be highly ambitious and approach the role with high levels of enthusiasm and a strong desire to make their own mark on this organisation
