Health Professional Engagement Facilitator South East

Fixed-Term Contract (maternity cover) for 12 months

Part-time, minimum 3 days per week

Salary £30k - £35k (pro rata)

Are you an engaging individual who can help us to improve cancer outcomes and save more lives?

Cancer Research UK are working with partners to improve the prevention and earlier diagnosis of cancer. Primary Care professionals, especially GPs and their practice teams, have a crucial role to play in early diagnosis but we know this is a complex area. We are also engaging with a range of Healthcare Professionals across the cancer pathway through our programme of Health Professional Engagement to raise the profile of cancer, identify activities to improve uptake of bowel screening and cancer outcomes more generally, and to make change happen at a local level.

It's a hugely exciting time to join the Health Professional Engagement Facilitation Team at Cancer Research UK, who are a key accelerator in driving forward our ambitious new Cancer Research UK organisational strategy.

An opportunity has arisen for a Health Professional Engagement Facilitator to join our team in the South East on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The Facilitator will need to be able to travel to the CCG catchment areas for Eastbourne and Hastings on a regular basis. There will also be some travel within the South East (Kent, Surrey, Sussex).

Purpose:

  • Build effective relationships with and actively engage all GP practices within the localities to raise the awareness of the importance of early detection and screening
  • Work closely with GP Practices to encourage the effective use of GP Practice data and undertake interventions that support the earlier detection of cancer
  • Develop, plan and co-ordinate learning events for primary care professionals
  • Lead and co-ordinate GP practice improvement projects
  • Work closely with health professionals from primary and secondary care organisations to effect improvements in communication, service delivery and patient experience across the cancer pathway.

To join us, we're looking for self-motivated individuals with:

  • Experience of partnering with a range of stakeholders to influence and develop sustainable change
  • Experience of working with GPs
  • Strong understanding of primary care and NHS environments
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills

As the role is field based, you'll also need to have tenacity and be comfortable working on your own as well as part of a team.

If this describes you, join our team as we work hard to beat cancer sooner.

Closing Date: Friday 31st August 2018

Assessment Centre Date and Location: Angel Building, London, Wednesday 12th September 2018

*The application process will involve uploading your CV and a covering letter as well as answering a few short questions we'd like to ask to find out more about you. Please ensure your CV is no longer than 2 sides of A4. Both full time and part time preferences will be considered.

At CRUK we value diversity and we're committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be themselves and to reach their full potential. We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and cultures and believe that a diverse workforce will help us to beat cancer sooner.

Please note, from 2019, our head office will be relocating from Islington to a new office space in Stratford, close to the Olympic Park.
