Since 2010 we've helped over 2.4 million people to improve their lives using digital, driving positive outcomes from employment through to health and wellbeing.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced Researcher for a fixed term to deliver key research elements of a number of large national digital inclusion programmes in order to provide an evidence base to inform future work and make recommendations for government and other stakeholders.

You will be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated researcher, with a track record of delivering quality outputs on time, working on your own an as part of a team, and staying focused on the end goal.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, co-ordination, management and delivery of research tasks and outputs in line with agreed business objectives for the Design and Research team.
  • Day to day planning, co-ordination and delivery of qualitative elements within a number of large national digital inclusion programmes. This will involve:
    • Undertaking rapid evidence reviews, desk research, field interviews and focus groups.
    • Contributing to area-based deep dives.
    • Analysis, synthesis and writing up of research findings.
    • Pro-active and responsive liaison with colleagues and partners (including community partners, funders).
    • Using agile and rapid appraisal methods, and working within an overarching agile project management framework.
  • Leading on and contributing to other funded and strategic projects as required.
  • Identification of what works and what doesn't work, including promising approaches and best practice that may be replicated or scaled, and innovation opportunities.
  • Drafting of interim and final project research reports, and revising in light of feedback and peer review.
  • Active, timely, accurate and audience-appropriate communication of research findings and other communications to different stakeholders

You will have experience of:

  • 2 years+ in a commercial research role, a corporate or charity R&D Role or an academic researcher role
  • Designing and conducting qualitative research and analysis, and reviewing existing evidence, in order to inform practice and policy
  • Analysing research data and interpreting this for non-research audiences
  • Undertaking work using your own initiative
  • Working well in teams, including cross-disciplinary teams

With the following knowledge and skills:

  • Qualitative research methods:

    participatory research, action research, textual analysis, qualitative data collection and analysis, literature review and synthesis.

    • Analytical with excellent attention to detail, whilst not losing sight of practical purpose and the bigger picture
    • Excellent writing skills - copywriting and report writing
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently
    • Ability to work collaboratively and within an agile framework
    • Resourcefulness in solving problems
    • Strong project management
    • Numerate to a good level

UK travel may be required.
