Our client is seeking to recruit a Director of Finance and Operations who has the ability and integrity to become a key member of the organisation’s high functioning Senior Executive Team.

This organisation is a trade union and professional body representing members in the NHS and the private health care sector. Their subsidiary registered charity promoting high standards of professional practice for the public benefit.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Directors, the Presidential Team and the Boards of both companies, this position, together with other senior posts, facilitates the smooth running, and helps improve the efficiency of the organisation. The post holder will be responsible for increasing the potential for membership growth by making the most efficient use of employee resources within the organisation, ensuring the finances of the organisation are managed well and that assets are safeguarded and employed effectively.

Providing sound financial advice, the Director of Finance and Operations will be responsible for the production of annual and management accounts for both arms of the organisation and implementing appropriate business plans to ensure the long term financial viability and security of the organisation.

In this diverse role, the post holder will work closely with the Chief Executive, being responsible for the strategic direction in relation to finance, people and performance, as well as being project manager for property and infrastructure and managing competitive tenders.

If you have strong leadership skills and experience in a strategic financial leadership role, together with a sound knowledge of charity and company law for governance, risk and compliance (SORP, FRS 102, corporation tax, VAT, NI and PAYE, health and safety and general business law), then this exciting post could be for you. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and have a professional Accountancy qualification.
