This leading housing association is part of the G15, a group of the largest housing providers in London.

Description

  • Lead, manage and deliver an external communications work programme for the Group, including media relations, PR, awards, corporate publications and events
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with key business areas and to provide an external communications advice and support service
  • Lead on media relations including proactive and reactive media enquiries, media releases and statements, building relationships with journalists, crisis communications
  • Ownership of public relations including managing and delivering award submissions, corporate information, photo calls, features, speeches and corporate events
  • Project managing the production of annual reports, business brochures and corporate newsletters
  • Oversee and support members of the team within a matrix environment
  • Monitor, review and report on the performance of the external communications work programme
  • Manage the procurement of and relationships with creative agencies and suppliers

Profile

Essential

  • Experience in developing and delivering press and external communication work programmes within a large complex organisation, particularly: media relations, public relations, publications, creative design/brand management, campaigns
  • Experience of managing work programmes and projects, and developing briefs, plans and procedures
  • A strong track record in project managing and delivering large projects with a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience supervising and performance managing team members
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work with a broad range internal and external stakeholders, particularly with journalists
  • Sound experience of working with and influencing senior management
  • Motivated self-starter who's able to deliver creative and high quality projects
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage several projects simultaneously

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of the property/housing sector
  • Event management experience
  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. in public relations, journalism or marketing) or equivalent
