Founded 120 years ago, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) is a small yet highly influential membership and campaigning charity. We have been championing and carrying the voices of placemakers and social reformers to every corner of government, and beyond, since our creation. 

We are active across all the nations in the UK, from leading high profile parliamentary campaigns to appearing in music festivals. We aim to change opinion not just amongst politicians but to reach out to new audiences and real communities with a whole menu of solutions. 

Our organisation has a proud legacy of change, and now that we are facing one of the most troubling times in the history of housing – with over one million families on the social housing waiting list and rough sleeping increasing year-on-year – our ability to create change is needed more than ever. 

At this critical and exciting time we need someone special to join us as Chief Executive and carry forward our timeless vision. 

Chief Executive – TCPA

Based in Westminster, London
 

The new Chief Executive will be front and centre of this agile and impactful organisation. Given its size, you will be hands-on across a variety of activities especially with regard to leading fundraising programmes. This will require a commercial mind-set to seize opportunities and turn them into commercial realities. 

A real “people” person, the Chief Executive will be a fantastic networker. With an understanding of UK public policy, they will confidently navigate working with government, NGOs and academia to make an impact.

Over and above this, the new Chief Executive will have a real passion for social justice and making a difference.
