Position: Head of HR
Location: Gainsborough (Commutable from Lincoln, Sheffield, Worksop, Doncaster, Scunthorpe and surrounding areas)
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours each week. Most people are there from 8:30am to 5pm (4:30pm on a Friday)
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Benefits: At least 25 days annual leave every year, with bank holidays on top of this. An employer matched pension contribution of up to 8%. The opportunity to undertake additional company sponsored professional training.
Closing date: 21st August 2018
Interview date: 3rd September 2018
About the role:
The Head of HR is all about being guardian of our client's culture, whether that’s: ensuring that their people strategy and supporting policies and procedures provide a positive and engaging employee experience; enabling their leaders to coach, develop and empower their teams to deliver high performance; ensuring that appropriate strategies are in place to attract and retain talent to deliver their strategic priorities now and in the future; ensuring that people at all levels across the organisation understand, and are skilled to deliver, their responsibilities so that they maintain statutory, legislative, regulatory and corporate compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Coaching, developing and empowering your team and senior colleagues to deliver the people strategy
- Applying your strong technical knowledge of HR to deliver amazing outcomes for their people and ultimately their customers
- Working with internal teams and other stakeholders to plan, prioritise and land projects within your scope
- Rolling your sleeves up and getting involved in day to day operational work (HR and non-HR) where required
- Herding cats through narrow doorways
- Getting involved in areas outside of your remit, either through working on cross-functional project groups, or supporting your senior leadership colleagues
- Working with colleagues on the senior management team to provide collaborative and cohesive leadership to the organisation, modelling our values and principles
About you:
- A great standard of education, with at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (HRM, business management, or psychology)
- You’ll be CIPD qualified to at least Chartered Member level
- Motivating, coaching and supporting people is what gets you up every day. Nothing makes you happier than seeing someone thrive, knowing you helped them get there
- You’re equally as comfortable working in the detail as you are floating in the clouds and developing longer-term strategies
- You’ll not be phased by challenge, resistance and setbacks – whoever said that culture change was easy?
- You’ll be an authentic and articulate communicator, whether that’s writing clear and engaging policies and board reports, or presenting to the whole workforce at our people conference
- You’ll have a compelling vision about what makes a great place to work, and the passion and drive to deliver it
- You’ll be adept at change, having got hands on experience living and breathing new ways of working and knowing how to bring your colleagues along for the experience
Desirable skills or experience:
- A Masters in HRM (or related field) would be amazing, as would BPS qualifications in test use (Ability & Personality)
- Whilst social housing sector experience isn’t essential, it would be great if you’ve operated within a regulated environment previously
You may have experience of the following: Head of HR, Head of Human Resources, HR Manager, Human Resources Manager, HR Generalist, Human Resources Generalist, HR Consultant, Human Resources Consultant, HR Business Partner, HRBP, etc.
