Job Details

A small but prominent professional membership body based in central London is seeking an Executive Director of Capability and Change to play a key role in leading on the digital transformation of the organisation, and to manage the central services functions of the organisations, covering HR, IT, Facilities and Governance.

As part of the organisation's senior management team you will play an important role as they transform the organisation to reflect the emerging digital world their members live and work in. You will need to be able to work collaboratively with the senior management team to ensure excellence in the planning and delivery of strategic change. You will need to able to manage a varied remit. And you will need to be comfortable working within a small but dynamic environment.

The role will involve:

-To establish an effective working relationship with the CEO, SMT and Board of Trustees.

-To contribute fully to the development of institute's strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate.

-To provide leadership to the institute's IT strategy, to optimise effectiveness and efficiency of systems in line with the institute's digital strategy.

-To provide leadership in the administration of the institute in terms of the management of HR, facilities.

-To provide leadership in the corporate and operational governance of the organisation ensuring regulatory compliance.

-To provide change and project management leadership and monitoring the delivery of major projects.

-Ensure HR policy and process complies with employment law and supports the needs of the organisation, including annual review of policy and recommendation of any changes required.

-Ensure all relevant information is retained within the HR records and payroll in line with best practice and Data Protection.

-Managing the deployment, development, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of organisational IT systems. This will include operating systems, servers, PCs, software, telephones and peripherals.

-Ensuring systems are maintained and upgraded as required.

-Overseeing the development and enhancement of systems and integrating new systems with those existing

-Act as liaison with the Governance and Risk Committee to ensure that the CQI Corporate governance complies with the Charity Governance Code.

-Manage the relationship between the Executive and the Membership Council's Nominating Committee for the appointment of Trustees.

-Advise the Finance & Remuneration Committee with respect to the annual executive pay review and gender pay gap review.

-Ensure an efficient, cost-effective facilities service is provided for the CQI office.

-Ensure Health & Safety is managed effectively at the CQI (recognising that ultimate responsibility for H&S sits with the Chief Executive and the Board of Trustees).

-Define, maintain, improve and operate the change management governance framework.

-Manage the performance of direct reports (and via them, the wider team) through coaching and structured management/ development activities, including regular one-to-one meetings and PDRs.

Applicants must have a demonstrable track record in a Director level position in a comparable membership, charity or SME organisation.

It is also essential that you have demonstrable senior leadership experience, can work collaboratively with a close-knit SMT and have prior experience with project management and transformation from an IT and digital capacity.

Prior experience in a broad corporate resources or central services remit is also required for this role.
