The Role:

As Business Advocacy and Engagement Manager you will advocate at the highest levels of business, national and international government. The role will entail building a global alliance of SMEs to support an important initiative and movement; you will participate in and lead relevant conferences, meetings and public events, pitching in ways that matter to time poor, overworked business owners and entrepreneurs. You will also proactively identify, develop and leverage productive relationships with key opinion formers and policy makers especially in the business community; work to influence a broad range of decision makers and opinion formers leading robust and evidence-based research and advocacy. Your excellent written skills and ability to produce compelling copy will enable you to craft concise, effective and engaging advocacy materials to the highest standards; and you will work with Comms and Advocacy colleagues to help build a portfolio of impact stories and to create snappy and engaging communications, especially around key products and events for a range of external audiences.

You'll be joining a small team, where everyone supports each other and takes responsibility for activities across the organisation.

The Person:

The right person for the role will be a bold and resilient self-starter with the energy and enthusiasm to engage with businesses around the world to effect positive change. You will have the intellect and presence to engage senior decision makers in robust arguments about why transparency matters and why the entrenched status quo needs to change. You will excite and inspire business leaders, mobilise them to make positive change and advocate with and for them. Proactive & focussed on delivery you will also be engaging and tenacious, able to work a room and work out the expertise and mutual benefit that can help deliver great results for the mission. You are adaptable and a creative problem solver with impeccable integrity, humility and grace. You have a high energy level and bring a sense of fun and joy for your work and are able to encourage that from others.
