Advocate
Our client supports people who face disadvantage or discrimination to have a voice that counts. Providing advocacy and user involvement services across England, they are a growing organisation working with people who are vulnerable or marginalised to raise their voices and have their rights respected.
Position: Advocate Relevant Persons Representative
Location: Liverpool
Job Type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 15 hours per week, two days per week between 9 am and 5 pm
Salary: £21,000 to £25,700 pro rata

About the role:
The Advocate role is concerned with strengthening voices, championing rights and changing lives of people who may be marginalised or vulnerable. Jobholders would normally report to the Service Manager or Managing Advocate and would be responsible for providing a direct service to gain positive outcomes for people along with wider impacts.
About you:
The successful applicant will ideally have experience of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 having worked as an RPR, or IMCA.
They are looking for a person who has an understating of the principles of advocacy and the issues faced by those who are assessed as lacking capacity in relation to restrictions and measures in place under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard Regulations.
They seek a person who is able to consider and weigh complex information effectively.
The ideal candidate will be able to communicate with professionals and partners to obtain positive outcomes such as reductions in restrictions placed upon those subject to a DOLS authorisation.
The successful applicant will be able to manage their time effectively and use their IT skills to record information, communicate with a variety of people and research case law.
The role will be based in their Liverpool office with travel across Liverpool visiting partner in various care homes and other locations as required by the manager.
You may have experience of the following: Advocate, Advocator, Mental Health, Vulnerable Adults, IAQ, Charity, Third Sector, Social Worker, Not for Profit, NFP, IMCA, RPR, Legislation, Policy, Support Worker, Healthcare, Case Worker, etc.
