Head of Resources (Operations & HR)

Full time, permanent role

Homebased/London based with national travel

Up to c£45,000 per annum

Self Management UK supports people experiencing one or more long-term health condition and is one of the leading providers of self-management structured education support nationally. Now in our 16th year we have provided self-management support to more than 150,000 people, helping to remove the barriers and challenges having a long-term condition can present. In fact, last year our small team of staff and incredible team of volunteers delivered 176 courses to more than 2500 people through 900 individual course workshops totalling more than 2700 of support.

Our size does not reflect our ability, impact or ambition and having just completed a period of significant transformation, we are looking to recruit a Head of Operations (Resources & HR) to help deliver the growth of our services and support the development of new exciting programmes of support.

As Head of Resources you will have knowledge of resource management and HR and provide motivational leadership, nurturing an environment where the team of staff and volunteers can excel through encouragement and empowerment, recognising individual potential and fostering development. You will also have strong analytical and evaluation skills and will have a proven track record of effectively leading teams in a complex and challenging delivery environment.

Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Senior Management Team you will ensure our self-management services are delivered in accordance with contractual specifications whilst developing our operational governance and compliance including the NHS Information Governance Toolkit.

To be successful in this role you will need to be ambitious, driven and self-motivated but also caring, creative and flexible. You can build productive and meaningful relationships with people from different backgrounds including those holding senior roles within statutory services. Whilst having entrepreneurial flair, commercial awareness and be a good strategic thinker you will understand the challenges faced by those communities we support and in the day to day delivery of community based support services.

You will be joining a small but dynamic Senior Management Team with a strong vision for our role in supporting the growing number of people experiencing the challenges faced by having one or more long-term condition.

The ideal candidate will bring experience of working with public sector partners, of managing a portfolio of different and challenging services and understand the importance of innovation, measured outcomes and evaluation. You will share our, passion, ambition, flexibility, drive and commercial awareness whilst also sharing our caring and supportive approach to staff and volunteers.

If you are interested in working in a challenging but highly rewarding operational role as part of a small but ambitious and dynamic team, with scope to not only develop your own skills, knowledge and experience but also leave your mark then apply today.
