Development Director

c£50,000 per annum

London SE11

Ten years, 2000 children, countless hours of practice and tuition and the tears and triumphs that turn potential into achievement.

London Music Masters is recruiting a Development Director to lead its fundraising team, building support for its award winning music education programme LMM Learning and its work with emerging professional artists.

This position offers an experienced leader a unique opportunity to play a strategic role within one of the UK’s most enterprising music education organisations.

In recent years London Music Masters has managed an impressive and rapid transition from almost total reliance on seed funding from one source to its current position with multiple diverse and sustained funding streams. We enjoy a healthy mix of income from trusts and foundations and individuals in addition to significant earned income. The Development Director will help us build on all of these sources, with a particular focus on developing our corporate relationships and further strengthening our individual donor base.

In September 2018 we launch a four year strategy to help train the next generation of outstanding music teachers across the UK. Our focus is on the underserved state primary sector where we have built up immense experience and credibility.

Working as part of a diverse and experienced leadership team, the Development Director will actively contribute to the growth of award-winning programmes which seek to greatly enhance the life chances and experiences of children and young people in inner-city London - and beyond, in developing our national ambitions.

The Development Director will be responsible for leading a small team of fundraisers and working with a highly experienced development committee and trustees. The ambitious fundraising targets of the charity are matched by the ambitions of the programme delivery teams and the trustees’ desire to impact the worlds of classical music and music education for good.
