What is Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis?
APF was founded in 2013 by a group of patients and clinicians as a national charity. It aims to improve the quality of life of patients and carers, represent patients’ interests, promote awareness of the disease, advocate for improved services for patients and carers, and fund research. APF’s vision is a world in which everyone living with pulmonary fibrosis has a better future.
Who are we looking for?
Currently a trustee-led charity, APF wishes to recruit its first CEO to lead the transition to a professionally managed, executive-led organisation.
The CEO will build the capacity and resources necessary to ensure sustainable growth, and develop the profile, influence and effectiveness of APF. You will build on APF’s national and international identity and cement its position as an influential advocate and voice of authority for pulmonary fibrosis.
You will be home-based initially and will lead a small professional team, who also work remotely. You will work with the Board of Trustees to review current organisational arrangements and decide whether a physical office is needed to deliver the charity’s agenda for growth and development.
The new CEO will actively lead, manage and support the team whilst identifying and developing resources to effectively meet the objectives of the charity.
You will have previous leadership and senior management experience in an organisation offering similar services and the passion and determination to drive Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis forward. You will understand the specific needs of people affected by pulmonary fibrosis and have a proven track record of influencing, establishing rapport, and building positive partnerships with key external stakeholders.
You will be a strategic thinker, able to ensure the financial health of the charity and a strong communicator with the ability to facilitate collaboration both internally and externally.
If you feel you have the skills, experience, drive and enthusiasm to join and lead this dynamic and successful charity we would like to hear from you as soon as possible.
If you would like to receive an Information Pack for this role, and details on how to apply, please send your CV to executive@harrishill.co.uk. Alternatively, please contact Jenny Hills on 020 7820 7321.
Closing date for applications: 9am on Friday 31st August 2018
