About the role
The Safeguarding or Child Protection Teams work directly with children who are subject to a Child Protection Plan, or who have Child in Need status, and their families. 

As a Senior Practitioner for Achieving for Children, you will: 

  • Hold a caseload of the most complex cases or unusual cases, assessing and managing risks appropriately 
  • Contribute to team management
  • Deputise for the Team Leader and 
  • Supervise the work of a social worker, ASYE or student

About you 
To be a Senior Practitioner in our Referral and Assessment, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points: 

  • Significant experience of working with vulnerable children 
  • Strong analytical and planning skills 
  • Use of relevant research methods, including critical reflection and evidence-based decision making 
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Evidence that you champion inclusion and value diversity
  • Extensive experience past your post qualifying year
  • Evidence that you work in partnership to improve services
  • Evidence that you focus on quality and innovation
