Location: Angel Building, Central London

Term: 12 month fixed term contract with potential to move into a permanent role

Full time

Salary: Competitive

NCRI is recruiting a talented candidate who is ready to fill an exciting and challenging role as Operations Manager. Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Executive, supporting our Board of Trustees and helping build and maintain relationships with our Partners. You will be joining NCRI in the second year of an ambitious five-year strategy which is focussed on accelerating progress in cancer-related research through collaboration.

The post holder will manage the following activities:

  • corporate governance,
  • relationships with key stakeholders, partners, host organisation (CRUK), other research organisations, suppliers etc.,
  • line management of the Operations Coordinator.

This role is well suited to an enthusiastic, flexible and proactive manager who is used to applying their initiative to deliver improvements, is a good communicator with effective interpersonal skills, and values being part of a close-knit team. The successful applicant will join a team committed to NCRI's purpose of improving health and quality of life by accelerating progress in cancer-related research through collaboration.

To be successful in the selection process you will be required to provide evidence of:

  • your ability to plan and organise activities,
  • the delivery of improvement processes,
  • an understanding of charity governance and compliance.
  • effective communication skills, and an ability to multi-task and meet deadlines whilst maintaining quality.

About NCRI

The NCRI is a UK-wide partnership of cancer research funders, established in 2001. Its 19 Partner organisations work together to improve health and quality of life by accelerating progress in cancer-related research, through collaboration.

NCRI works to coordinate research related to cancer, to improve the quality and relevance of the research and to accelerate translation of the research into clinical practice for the benefit of patients.

As a Partnership, NCRI coordinates a range of activities including managing a comprehensive network of Clinical Studies Groups and a clinical trials units group, which develop and implement high quality cancer clinical studies; hosting the UK's largest Cancer Conference; collating cancer research funding data on behalf of our Partners; and running time limited initiatives that address gaps and opportunities in cancer research.
