Summary 

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a conservation organisation with a global reach. The Communications & Marketing Manager will work with and inspire a small, dynamic and knowledgeable team in the UK. Reporting into and working closely with the CEO and the Director of Communications and Development, this is a role with responsibility to support the organisation with its everyday marketing and communication needs, and steering digital and printed communications as set out in the marketing strategy.  

Working with WLT 

WLT is unique within the conservation world. With a track record of almost 30 years its vision for a new model of conservation has developed into a sound modus operandi without losing vision, integrity and transparency. WLT has been instrumental in the purchase and long term protection of millions of acres working through its overseas conservation partners. You will need to work quickly to become fluent in the Trust’s history as well as current projects and you will bring a lively mind that relishes innovation to communicating the message.  

What you’ll be doing 

The Communications & Marketing Manager will interpret, promote and clearly articulate the mission and ethos of the WLT. The job requires you to have copywriting and editing skills giving you the tools to edit and add value to both short and long-form pieces of writing on a regular basis. You will have had experience in writing Press Releases and handling press enquiries and requirements. You will be qualified to support the development and constant maintenance of the website and enjoy all elements of social media. You will need to demonstrate exceptionally good communication skills and give powerful presentations.  

WLT is looking for someone who is confident, experienced, and enthusiastic to work with our communications team which consists of 6 staff members; you will interact with them all. 

Who we’re looking for 

Requirements within this post are many and challenging. We are looking for exceptionally personable candidates who are keen to integrate themselves into a small dedicated team of 20 staff while grasping responsibility with both hands. The successful applicant will have a proven track record and demonstrate excellent team development skills. An ability to use a creative approach to inspire and speak with confidence, while listening and learning is a must.  

The post is full time, based in WLT’s offices in Halesworth, Suffolk.
