One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory disease – from mild asthma through to lung cancer – the British Lung Foundation (BLF) is here to provide hope, help and a voice for every one of them. We are leading the fight against lung disease by providing support, funding vital research, and campaigning for better prevention, treatment and care. 

We are looking for a Director of Fundraising and Marketing who will help us achieve our vision that one day everyone will breathe clean air with healthy lungs. A key member of our Executive team with responsibility for developing and delivering our fundraising and marketing strategies, you will also play a leading role as we pursue our corporate strategy over the next five years.

This is an opportunity for an outstanding individual to lead an award-winning team that has already made significant strides in increasing people’s awareness and access to our services and in growing our fundraised income. But there is still more we can and should do, and with new research and patient services strategies being finalised, this is a very significant opportunity to deliver a step change in our income and, in doing so, for those affected by lung disease. 

You will bring a track record of success in significantly growing sustainable income whilst increasing engagement with a cause. An inspirational leader, you will know how to get the best out of a multidisciplinary team and work effectively across the organisation to ensure we implement the right conditions for our fundraising and marketing activity to flourish, whilst developing and delivering fundraising and marketing strategies that deliver a step change in income and engagement levels.
