We have an exciting opportunity for a new Policy Officer to join us at the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and support us in the development of policy which will create the most favourable policy, political and regulatory environment for the BHF to achieve its mission to stop people suffering or dying prematurely from heart and circulatory diseases.

You'll research and draft new policy positions, proactively identifying gaps and opportunities, and will work closely with public affairs to drive change based on policy positions.

The BHF policy and public affairs team exists to build support amongst key decision makers so that we can beat heart disease for good. We develop the BHF's positions and engage and influence stakeholders to help ensure the UK remains a global leader in heart and circulatory research.

About you

With previous experience of policy work, ideally in the health, medical or research spheres, you'll have excellent writing and analytical skills. You will have strong communication & relationship building skills and be able to work collaboratively in a friendly, busy team. You'll also possess excellent research and analysis skills.

With experience working in policy development or related field, you'll have knowledge of health policy and/or experience of working in a research environment. You will be able to work on your own initiative and with strong time management and organisation skills will be able to work under pressure.
