Job Details
Reporting into the Director of People Services you will be responsible for leading, managing and motivating the Reward and Resourcing Team.
Your key accountabilities will include:-
- Integrating and leading a newly created team ensuring the right strategies, processes and practices are in place.
- Developing a reward strategy which modernises the council's remuneration policies and practices.
- Managing the delivery of on-going and annual pay and reward programmes.
- Working with senior leaders to determine their resourcing and talent requirements and translating these into an integrated succession and talent acquisition strategy.
- Reviewing resourcing processes and ensuring the creative and innovative use of all resourcing channels and media.
- Negotiating, reviewing and managing the Council's agency workers' contract so that the Council is achieving value for money.
- Working as a senior member of the People Services function, ensuring there is a high degree of collaboration across the function.
- Leading and managing complex projects including working closely and effectively with Trade Unions.
- Writing papers for senior meetings on reward and resourcing issues.
You should be an experienced Human Resources professional with a track record of evaluating and assessing reward practices and of developing organisation wide resourcing and succession planning strategies. Ideally you will have a good understanding of local government pay and conditions. Excellent team management skills need to be combined with an innovative and proactive working style.
