About the role
The Deputy Nursery Manager role will support the Nursery Manager with the day to day running of the nursery, care and early education of the children attending the nursery. 

 As Deputy Nursery Manager for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for:
• To support the Nursery Manager with all aspects of the running of the nursery, care and early education of the children attending the nursery. 
• To manage the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager ensuring continuity of care and meeting Ofsted requirements. 
• To take responsibility for a key group of children. 
• Planning, delivering and monitoring activities to meet the needs of all children
• Maintaining a safe clean environment in which young children can flourish, develop, learn and grow.

Moor Lane Day Nursery provides day care for 24 children aged 0-5 years of age. Our small and friendly nursery, based on the site of the Moor Lane Centre in Chessington, has close working in partnership with parents, delivering quality child care and early education tailored to the needs of individual children. The Nursery is open for 51 weeks of the year between 8am - 6pm, Monday – Friday. Staff typically work shift patterns of 8am - 4pm or 10am - 6pm. 

As the Deputy you will be an instrumental member of the nursery team, supporting children and their families. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced, innovative, passionate and ambitious early years professional looking to develop and grow their management skills and experience. About you
To be Deputy Nursery Manager for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:

• To be able to deputise in the absence of the Nursery Manager and maintaining the smooth running of the nursery
• To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children, ensuring that the developmental progress of each child is regularly monitored
• To give support to other personnel within the Nursery
• Encouraging and developing good communication and relationships with parents and professional workers to promote the well-being of the staff
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of Ofsted requirements
