Job Details
A great opportunity has arisen for a temporary Events Manager for a youth related charity in order to deliver best in class special, challenge and cultivation events. This will be a temporary role (3 months contract) based in London.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Deliver ambitious income targets ranging from 350k- 1m depending on your allocated programme of events.
Support the wider events team to deliver 4m+
Project manage a portfolio of events running all aspects of delivery including venue identification and hire, sourcing auction items, dealing with suppliers, health and safety, planning and logistics, processing invoices, ticket payments, dealing with delegate queries and ensuring compliance with our event strategy.
Support third party events and maximise income from them source new opportunities where appropriate
Lead tproject teams for your events and ensure that all stakeholders are clear in their roles while driving the project forwards
Work closely with Philanthropy, Corporate and Individual fundraising teams to ensure lifelong stewardship journeys are in place for event participants
To ensure funders are appropriately recognised and stewarded and maintain accurate records, maintaining and growing the charity s supporter database, Raisers Edge
In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
A deep understanding of the challenges faced by the young people we support
Excellent knowledge and understanding of event fundraising / event management
Project management and planning skills
Evidenced track record of success in managing key accounts and or individuals
Ability to build strong, authentic relationships with donors, volunteers and staff
Good negotiation skills including diplomacy and persuasiveness
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Experience of working in a complex organisation and running projects or initiatives that span disciplines and reporting lines
Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload in a highly pressurised environment
Experience of working within a charity or commercial organisation events department
Experience of delivering success within a target driven environment
Experience of working with senior level volunteers and stakeholders
Experience of using databases, e-mail, internet, word-processing and spreadsheet packages, accurately and with good attention to detail
