Therapeutic Practitioner/ Psychologist 

Our client is a specialist provider of therapeutic care for adolescent males who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour. Based in the Thames Valley, they work with 10-21 year olds who have engaged in inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour and who have often suffered multiple forms of trauma themselves. Our client provides all-encompassing, 52 week care, education and therapy for the young people placed in their residential service as well as outreach therapeutic services to young people who reside in the community. 

Our client was established in 1989 and the service they deliver has developed in line with current research and good practice. They are widely recognised for the excellent therapeutic service they offer and have contributed to research and literature in the field. Their aim is to provide the highest standard of care, education and therapy to the young people they work with so that they can go on to lead fulfilling and offence-free lives. The multidisciplinary therapy team consists of practitioners with a wide variety of qualifications, such as Forensic Psychology, Integrative Child Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Dyadic Development Psychotherapy. 

Position: Therapeutic Practitioner/ Psychologist

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £26,500 to 30,000 per annum 

About the role: 

They are currently looking to recruit a Therapeutic Practitioner or Psychologist to join their therapy team. The job will involve conducting psychometric and risk assessments, as well as developing, providing and evaluating individual and group therapy for the young people placed with our client, or for those referred to them for assessment or specific therapeutic interventions. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will be working within a multidimensional model and will need to have the necessary communication skills to work closely with both external and internal professionals to provide the best possible therapeutic care for the young people in receipt of the therapeutic service with our client. There will also be opportunities to attend and present at conferences, conduct research, and develop and deliver training to internal and external professionals. The successful candidate will have experience in conducting assessments and direct therapeutic work, preferably with adolescents.
