Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. 

Position: Dementia Support Worker 
Location: Fenland and East Cambridgeshire 
Contract type: Permanent – Subject to Funding 
Hours: Part time, 17.5 per week 
Salary: £10,172.50 per annum (actual) 

Closing date: 5pm on Friday 3rd August. 
Interview date: Thursday 16th August 

About the role: 
This is an exciting opportunity working within their team as a Dementia Support Worker. You will have the rewarding opportunity to provide information and guidance to people living with dementia and their carers primarily in the Fenland and East Cambridgeshire Area.   Your role will help to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and empower them in their daily lives. 
You will offer support and guidance in a variety of ways: face to face, by phone, letter or email. Part of this role also involves working on the Cambridgeshire Single Point of Access speaking to members of the public, Health and Social Care Staff and other Professionals taking referrals and providing information. 
About you: 

You will offer support and guidance to your clients in a variety of ways, face to face, by phone, letter or email. 
You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals, as well as facilitating support groups and other group activities if required. 
They are looking for an individual who possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers. 
Your ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service. 
To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills. 
This role requires regular use of IT packages, therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable 
Travel is required throughout Cambridgeshire for this role, therefore applicants should be able to travel independently.   They are looking at a working pattern of 2 x 6 hour days and 1 x 5.30 hour day per week, days of the week to be discussed at interview.
