Volunteer Team Leader

Position: Regional Volunteering Development Lead 
Location: Flexible within North East, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire 
Contract type: Full time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 per week 
Salary: From £28,283 per annum 

Closing date: 5pm on Thursday 2nd of August.

About the role: 

To enable us to realise our Volunteering Vision, the post holder will oversee the volunteering activities and proposition within a designated region. 

By providing direct line management to a team of local Volunteering Officers and linking in with other Regional Volunteering Development Leads, the post holder will ensure targets are met and will share learning and best practice. 

They will provide coaching and guidance to our employees and lead volunteers, so they deliver a great volunteering experience to anyone wishing to give their time to the Society. 

About you: 

We are looking for an inspiring people manager with experience of leading a dispersed team delivering competing and varied objectives and KPIs. 

You will have significant experience of volunteering and volunteer management in a geographically dispersed organisation. 

In delivering the role you will strive to be an expert in the field of volunteering; with a good understanding of the volunteering environment within the region you are operating. 

You have the ability to proactively build relationships and networks, motivating and inspiring others in the engagement of volunteers. Your sound leadership and communication skills will ensure you are able to prioritise a varied workload effectively. 

You will have strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to focus on solutions. Ideally you will also demonstrate good knowledge of service-user involvement, equality, diversity and inclusion strategies and development of a range of volunteer offers - such as corporate volunteers, lead volunteers, service users and employee volunteers.
