Support Manager 

Create a world without dementia 

Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. 

Position: Dementia Support Manager 
Location: Olton 
Contract type: Full time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 per week 
Salary: £22,132 per annum (actual) 

Closing date: Thursday 2nd August

About the role: 

This is a very exciting opportunity to work with a very dedicated, successful and hardworking team. The team deliver a number of Dementia Cafes, Activity Groups, Singing for the Brain sessions and Peer support Groups primarily across Birmingham and Solihull. 

Your primary role is to line manage your team and ensures the services are delivered seamlessly and to the highest standard. In addition you will be involved in supporting the Services Manager with activities such as quarterly reporting, event participation and day to day management of the services 

You will also support the team through ongoing change processes and ensure everyone remains informed and involved in the shaping of their new focus in the new strategy, New Deal for Dementia 

About you: 

They are looking for a well-motivated, passionate and resourceful person; who has proven and demonstrable experience managing teams of paid staff and volunteers, within a busy service environment. 

You must be able to work collaboratively with internal and external partners and be able to motivate a team to carry out their roles. 

A good standard of IT skills would be desirable with an ability to plan and prioritise. 

The duties associated with the role can be varied so they are looking for someone who is an effective communicator, has an understanding of operational detail and is solution focussed. 

Ideally, you will possess an in depth understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers as well as qualifications at NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent).
