Head of Strategy and Change Delivery
A large charity are looking for Head of Strategy and Change Delivery for a 12 month contract to focus on change and strategy and lead their Change Management Office. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing a large portfolio of change activities and be expected to strengthen their programme and project management capabilities and will work across functions to prioritise change activities and track benefits. You will also provide strategic and operational support to programmes and projects, ensuring they are aligned to strategic objectives, delivering at pace and resourced adequately.
Reporting the CEO you will lead engagement, launch and execution of the new strategy with key internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure the alignment of operational strategies, priorities, plans and engagement framework.
-Support the Chief Executive and Executive Committee to drive, develop and align strategic objectives and plans, including; execution, engagement and launch of the new strategy, development of strategic priorities, programmes and plans and ensuring engagement and support of key stakeholders
-Oversee the Change Management Office, ensuring effective change delivery and governance and reporting through to Executive Committee.
-Strengthen their programme and project management capabilities and will work cross functionally to prioritise change activities and track benefits.
-Provide strategic and operational support to programmes and projects, ensuring they are delivering at pace and resourced adequately, with particular focus on successfully delivering a transformation programme
-Leading and managing the Change Management Office and establishing its role and protocols for the portfolio of programmes and projects across the charity
-Deliver a change framework and governance that are fit for purpose and that underpin the work of our Change Management Office
-Lead, direct and deliver significant strategic projects
-Engage, influence and collaborate with senior staff to ensure effective delivery of strategic and operational change initiatives
-Lead and support the launch and execution of the new organisational strategy
Skills and Experience required:
-Strong track record of successfully leading, delivering and managing large, complex change programmes
-Track record of successful strategy execution and stakeholder management in a complex organisation with geographically dispersed staff
-Experience of leading a Change Management Office or Programme Management Office in a complex organisation
-Experience of designing, managing and delivering solutions to ambiguous and sometimes contentious issues
-Proven track record of successfully influencing and delivering cultural change
-Defining, monitoring and evaluating performance and tracking benefits
-Experience of challenging traditional practices and gaining buy-in and support from a range of stakeholders
-Experience of applying commercial acumen and understanding of financial management
-Formal qualification in project management
-Understanding of the social and political factors shaping local/national health services ideally
-In-depth working knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management
