Job Details
Are you a legal Human Rights Specialist with knowledge of women's rights?
We are delighted to be partnering with The Royal Commonwealth Society to recruit their new Women's Rights Programme Manager to oversee and lead on the delivery of a two year ground-breaking programme of legislative reform.
This role will fit within The Equality and Justice Alliance, which is a consortium of UK based international organisations working collaboratively with each other to engage with Commonwealth leaders, governments and civil society stakeholders to advance equality through three distinct strands of programme activity.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the delivery of women's rights initiatives within the programme. Day to day responsibilities will consist of planning and executing women's rights advocacy activities, identifying delivery partners, developing partnership agreements and managing funding grants on behalf of the EJA. You will oversee and track the women's rights capacity building budget, as well as producing quarterly financial reports. You will also have the opportunity to build a coalition of women's rights and LGBT organisations by identifying potential women's right's civil society partners in key countries and regions. This will include a number of organisations including women's trade unions and faith-based organisations. In addition you will develop strategy and advocacy approaches in partnership with civil society and Equality and Justice Alliance members.
To be considered for this role, you must have expert knowledge of international and regional legal frameworks relating to women's rights and violence against women and girls, and a postgraduate degree in human rights or international law. Significant international programme management experience working with women's rights organisations and networks is required, along with experience of managing large scale budgets and donor reporting. The placed candidate will have a strong track record in organising roundtables and workshops across different countries, and have the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including senior political and diplomatic officials, lawyers and activists.
The placed candidate will have the opportunity to undertake international travel within Commonwealth countries in the global south.
A full job description will be provided to candidates short-listed by Prospectus.
Please apply with a Word Document copy of your CV. Cover letters are not required at this stage.
