Service Manager / Family Support Manager

Somebody goes missing in the UK every 90 seconds. They are a non-judgemental, highly skilled team of staff and volunteers working around the clock for everyone who needs them. They provide free 24-hour confidential support, help, advice by phone, email, text and online, including the opportunity to reconnect. They also coordinate a UK wide network of people, businesses and media to join the search when someone goes missing.
Our client is an independent charity that relies on donations.
Position: Family Support Manager
Location: South West London
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, some out of office hours work will be required
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

About the role:
This Family Support Manager is responsible for managing their support services for family members impacted by a loved one’s missing incident. This role leads the Family Support team, the Counselling Service and the organisation’s plan to better meet the needs of families.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the operational delivery of existing and new family support services and events, ensuring quality and effectiveness
- Leadership, development and management of the Telephone Counselling Service
- Developing and delivering training for staff and volunteers in supporting families of missing people
- Project management of Family Support funded work and development of funding applications
- Managing changes to Family Support service delivery, including developing and piloting new working systems and service offer for families
- Development and delivery of a family engagement strategy
- Part of the Services Management Team, ensuring service provision is delivered across the teams, providing On Call support to the team delivering all Central Services (including the Helplines and Publicity)
About you:
- Significant experience of managing services providing emotional support to individuals experiencing a wide range of complex issues, including trauma and loss
- Experience of managing staff and volunteers
- Excellent knowledge of and proven experience of dealing with safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
- Project management experience
- Experience in developing and delivering presentations
- Proven ability to design and implement training sessions
- Ability to maintain significant emotional resilience whilst dealing with complex and often traumatic situations.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects alongside service delivery
- Well-developed IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (especially Outlook), databases and data entry
