Fixed Term Contract or Secondment for at least 12 months

Salary: Competitive + Excellent benefits

Are you a self-motivated and sharp minded individual with experience of influencing health policy that can help us beat cancer sooner?

We are looking for an experienced Policy Manager to...

  • Lead our policy development work to optimise NHS cancer services, with a focus on the cancer workforce and early diagnosis
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Effectively communicate the charity's policy positions to a range of audiences, including policy makers, patients and the public
  • Work with the Head of Policy Development to ensure effective operation of the team, including team and personal development

Now we need a Policy Manager to lead the development and delivery of our policy work to improve NHS cancer services, from developing robust evidence-based positions through to building strong relationships and influencing key opinion leaders.

  • Experience and thorough understanding of policy analysis and development.
  • Excellent understanding of policy issues relevant to Cancer Research UK.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop clear, ambitious and achievable project plans.
  • Good understanding of the UK nations' political processes and health structures

Desirable

  • A professional or post-graduate qualification in a relevant field (health, biomedical sciences, public policy)
  • Experience working in a health policy role, or a role with links to cancer services, workforce policy, and/or early diagnosis
