Supporter Customer Service Advisor

Salary: £18,500 p.a. (with framework to potentially increase to between £19,000 - £21,000 after 6 months) + excellent benefits

Hours: 35 per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Oxford Business Park - Surrounded by great local amenities, Oxford Business Park has plenty of car parking spaces and is easily accessed by public transport.

Cancer Research UK is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and engaging individuals who are to join our Supporter Contact Team in Oxford. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to our incredible supporters, staff and external suppliers.

What will I do?

As a Supporter Customer Service Advisor you will…

  • Make and receive calls, emails or letters on a wide variety of topics
  • Provide excellent service to supporters on the phone, via e-mail and letter
  • Be an information specialist, maintaining a broad knowledge and understanding of Cancer Research UK's campaigns
  • Listen to the needs of each supporter, while conveying information in an appropriate and empathetic manner
  • Resolve supporter enquiries at the first point of contact where possible
  • Build strong relationships with supporters and provide guidance on the fundraising journey.

What do I need?

We're looking for driven individuals who have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), can take a professional approach when engaging with customers and supporters and an ability to empathise with our supporters over the phone or by email.

  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Experience of writing letters/emails with a high standard of grammar, spelling and presentation
  • Ability to build relationships with supporters quickly
  • Approach which is flexible, innovative and responsive
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • IT literacy - in particular working with databases.

What are the hours of work?

This role is based on the Oxford Business Park and our opening times are between 08.00 and 18.00. Because of our opening times and peak hours for calls we welcome applications from candidates that are either looking for a full or part time role as we can offer a variety of flexible working patterns to suit.
