Are you a creative and motivated communications professional looking to take the next step in your PR career?

We have an exciting opportunity within our in-house, national PR team for someone who can

  • Plan and execute national PR campaigns to support Cancer Research UK's fundraising priorities
  • Drive projects forward, spot opportunities, and think of creative ways to raise awareness of your projects in the national media
  • Work closely with other teams across the communications department to ensure a collaborative approach to our media activity
  • Create content that will engage with our audiences across different communications channels
  • Respond to reactive media enquiries and advise spokespeople on reputation issues
  • Work on PR plans, write press releases and briefing documents, and organise photo calls, media events and press launches
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders across the charity, helping to build the reputation of the department

  • Extensive experience in consumer PR and good knowledge of traditional and social media. We are looking for a minimum of three years' experience in a consumer PR agency, busy in-house press office or similar role. This role is equivalent to an account manager role in agency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to find creative ways to publicise fundraising initiatives
  • Ability to manage your time and prioritise tasks successfully
  • Interest, enthusiasm and ability to keep up to date with the charity's work as well as new PR and social media developments
