Prospectus are delighted to be partnering with a leading supported housing provider, striving to help homeless people build firm foundations by facilitating their independence and integration into society. They are now looking for an enthusiastic Support Assistant to join one of their small mental health step down services in Croydon.

As a Support Assistant you will work alongside your Support Worker colleagues to support and empower service users to increase their life skills, self-management and confidence in order to successfully sustain independent living. You will assist with supporting vulnerable young people with a range of complex needs, including those experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping, substance misuse and/or mental health. Offering a person centred support service to a caseload of clients; you will enable customers to identify their existing strengths and skills in order for them to achieve their goals and aspirations. In addition, you will also work closely with local health services and specialist agencies to maximise services and opportunities available to your clients.

To be considered for this position, you will be able to demonstrate passion and motivation to support vulnerable people on their path to independent living and have a good understanding of the causes and challenges of homelessness. Proven experience of successfully supporting service users with multiple and complex needs is essential as is strong knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality.

Please note that this role will be to work 37.5 hours a week, comprising of shifts with a rolling rota, working 2 weekends out of 6.
