Sense has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and motivated Manager to join our professional team at our new Supported Living Service in Selly Park, Birmingham. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week.

About the role

As the Manager of a six person Supported Living service, you will provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments and/or learning disabilities. You will effectively manage a team to deliver person centred, specialist services that meet organisational standards and expectations.

You will need to have a sound knowledge of person centred planning, rota planning, staff management/development and budget management. In order to support Sense’s commitment to high quality, accountable services, you will need to be aware of the expectations of the Health and Social Care Act 2015 and to develop an understanding of Senses’ Quality Assurance system. You will be required, to be registered with the relevant external agencies and maintain compliance.

About You

You must be willing to work towards a Level Five Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or be working towards an accredited award. You will need to have had proven experience of supervising and line managing staff in accordance with policy and legislation, as well as experience of managing misconduct, grievance and performance issues.

The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with challenging situations and of advocating in the best interests of individuals.

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
