Job Details
Stonewall exists because lesbian, gay, bi and trans people everywhere are still unable to live full, authentic lives without fear of discrimination.
Recognised as one of the most effective charitable organisations in the United Kingdom, we're known for helping transform the legal and cultural landscape for Britain's LGBT communities.
Today, however, we face a new chapter that is as complex as it is challenging. We must secure absolute inclusion for all, and create a world where all LGBT people everywhere are accepted without exception.
No longer must we just engage politicians in our mission and values, but also sports fans, faith leaders, teachers based in rural England or small business owners. It also means recognising and representing the unique lived experiences of different LGBT people in all the work we do, ensuring that no one feels left behind.
Trustees
Unremunerated
We're now looking for up to four additional Trustees who may have skills at the highest level within the following areas:
- Marketing and Communications
- Digital Skills (technical expertise with a particular reference to specification and procurement processes)
- Trade Union, Industrial Relations or Professional Membership bodies
We are looking for exceptional individuals with the skills and expertise to make a significant contribution to the Board, providing guidance, leadership and the skills that will help our organisation continue to develop.
At Stonewall, we're committed to our Board of Trustees being representative, both of us as an organisation and our wider LGBT communities. This includes maintaining an equal gender balance.
We believe there must be meaningful representation of women and we are particularly keen to hear from women who have insight into the lived experiences of trans and BAME people.
We must ensure that, as an organisation, we are protected and led by the most passionate and proactive people.
Please download the appointment which is available on the the Prospectus website, and for an informal discussion about the role, please contact Jess Stockford or Lottie Wihl on 0207 691 1920 or via email at: jessica.stockford@prospect-us.co.uk or lottie.wihl@prospect-us.co.uk
Closing date: Monday 27 August
Panel Interviews: w/c Monday 01 October
