About the role
You'll manage a small team of Media Officers to run BHF's series of national media campaigns about different heart and circulatory conditions and supporting the Healthcare Innovation directorate to use communications tactics to improve patient care. The Media Manager also leads the media elements of BHF's campaign to create a Nation of Lifesavers through equipping every school in the country with the ability to train their pupils in CPR.
Furthermore, you'll form part of the management team that leads the BHF's busy reactive press office to ensure heart patients receive accurate information through the media. The position sits within the Health and Research communications team and is managed by the Head of Media.
About you
The successful candidate will be creative with a positive and 'can-do' attitude. With excellent time management skills you'll have the ability to work under pressure. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally and have good negotiation skills.
You'll have excellent communication skills, including knowledge of digital communications tools including video, updating and maintaining web pages, blogger engagement, social networks, search and digital marketing. IT literate you'll be competent with Microsoft packages.
About us
When you work at the BHF, you become a part of medical history. Part of a world leading organisation that has played a role in decades of life saving breakthroughs, from heart transplants and pacemakers to stents and clot busting drugs. And we're not about to stop any time soon. We are here to beat heartbreak forever. To stop heart and circulatory diseases devastating families.
