Job Details

A leading international NGO is seeking a talented junior Web Developer for a role in their London Office. The role involves working on the organisation's main website, and is biased towards front-end development.

The role would be suitable for a junior developer with at least 6 months prior work experience in a similar role.

Strong skills in PHP and Javascript are a must.

More info:

In this role your primary responsibility will be to design and build great-looking, cutting edge web sites and web pages to support the charity's work. You'll work on all of our supporter-facing digital products, supporting the Web Development Manager as required.

You'll have expertise in both front- and back-end web development - excellent PHP and Javascript skills are essential. Experience with the charity's primary technology platforms - Drupal, Laravel and Magento - is preferred, but if you can show you have expertise with equivalent systems that's great too.

The charity is committed to making its website the best in its class in the UK, and that includes the technologies they're built on. Experience with React or a similar front-end Javascript frameworks is desirable; we'd like your front-end skills to extend beyond just jQuery, and knowledge of ES2015 and up is preferred. We'd also like someone who is keen to develop new technical skills as required by the demands of new systems or platforms - and drive work forwards using these skills.

While your technical skills should be excellent, you'll also need to have a keen eye for design and UX and be able to take projects from a blank screen through wire frames, Photoshop or Sketch files to live web pages. The pages you build will work equally well on mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers, and you will approach all projects from a mobile-first perspective.

You'll also focus on optimising your work to maximise online conversion rates - so experience with implementing A/B tests and the learnings from them using data and evidence is important.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and web pages with supporter-facing teams across the organisation - so it's vital that you are comfortable project managing small to midsize technical projects involving multiple stakeholders - and can show how you've been able to do this in the past.

Please send your CV for immediate consideration.

Closing date Friday 22nd June.
