Chief Operating Officer

As Autism Wessex celebrate their 50th year, they are seeking to recruit a Chief Operations Officer to assist them in leading and developing their plans for the future whilst overseeing the operational running of the charity.

The position is new and will report into the CEO. The role will operate as the organisation’s second-in-command and will be a key member of the senior management team.

The role has been designed as a COO but will incorporate responsibilities normally associated with the position of FD. This is a deliberate move and there will be further opportunity for the post holderf to develop the role as the charity determines its strategic priorities. For this reason, you need to be able to work in an agile way.

What we would like from you:

You should ideally come from a finance background, having operated as a COO or Finance Director in the past. You will have worked in the social care sector or ideally, in the charity sector. You must have the ability to think at a strategic level and lead multiple teams. You should have a passion for improving the lives of those living with disabilities and be driven to lead and develop the organisation to provide the best quality of care and education for our service users.

What we will give you in return:

  • Salary: Circa £60-65K
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays which increases by 1 day each year of service, up to 33 days
  • Ongoing personal development
  • Free Parking
  • Healthcare Benefits
  • Online Perks & Discounts

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Maureen Harrington on 01202 703591 who will arrange a call with our CEO, Siún Cranny. Alternatively, please download the application pack.

Closing date for applications is Friday 10 August 2018.

Autism Wessex is committed to safeguarding the welfare of the people we support. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS and 2 satisfactory employment references.
