Combat Stress was established in 1919. We are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For almost a century, we’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.

Today we provide UK-wide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. We’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So, when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to take on the future.

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic community fundraiser to join the team at Combat Stress, the veterans’ mental health charity.  This is an exciting time to be joining as we are gearing up for the charity’s centenary in 2019.  We have big aspirations and are looking for a fantastic new Officer to help us to achieve them!

Company

Combat Stress is a registered charity in the United Kingdom offering therapeutic and clinical community and residential treatment to former members of the British Armed Forces who are suffering from a range of mental health conditions; including post traumatic stress disorder.

Our aim is to treat veterans’ symptoms and improve their quality of life. We want to help veterans tackle their past and take on the future.

Veterans with complex mental health conditions need a specialist team made up of different mental health professionals to help them and we provide this. Our clinicians work closely with each other and the veteran to develop a treatment plan that best suits their needs.

We directly employ our own clinical staff to provide our highly specialised treatment to UK veterans at our centres in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our treatment is available online, in the community, through outpatient appointments and also on a residential basis when required.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver specialist treatment for veterans with complex mental health needs, whilst supporting their families and network, to help them tackle the past and take on their future.

Our vision is for all former servicemen and women with complex mental health problems to live full and meaningful lives.

Our Values

Together: We are united in purpose, collaborative in action.

Focused: We're clear about what we will and won't do to deliver the best outcomes.

Bold: We'll do and say what we must to achieve our organisation's vision.

Personal: We respect diversity and appreciate everyone's individual needs and talents.
